    Xmas Gift Ideas

Wonder if anyone has any good suggestions on gifts this year.

Every year I am stumped at what to get for me mam, can find the odd knickknack but getting a decent prezzie is always a total ballache.

Dad = latest gadget/toy, so no worries there.

Plus suggestions of anything cool really is appreciated.

    Experience days?

    Perfume, shoe, bag making course
    Guided tours?
    Afternoon tea somewhere nice?
    Growing old is mandatory
    Growing up is optional

I'm in clientco's Secret Santa, and we're allowed to spend up to £10.

Hmm, I wonder if HMR&C do tax vouchers, like book tokens, you can buy as gifts for people so they can post them as payments towards their taxes

You could call them 'Tax Credits'

Spend a fiver instead, show that you're your own boss.

I opted out of our secret santa because I don't know any of these feckers, the youngest permie in the office has been here for 13 years. Some people have retired and come back. I've been here just over a month part time.

Just thought, I can claim back the expenses for the present, under the heading "client entertainment"

Sounds great for a "no longer exactly a spring chicken" like me!

Sometimes I think young permies, especially in supervisory roles, are a bit uncomfortable working with old timers who could be their fathers or even grandfathers!

Friend of mine hates secret Santa with a passion and instead organises Christmas gifts for children in a couple of orphanages. Much more in keeping with the season.

My mum likes biographies of interesting people.
