Er, that's 2.4 AHrs a day.

My Corolla was doing 12Ahrs per day which is enough to flatten a 60Ah battery in 5 days.

My trickle charger put about an amp or so into the battery until it reached 13.8V, whereupon it switched off until the battery voltage dropped to 12.5V or so.

Rinse & repeat.

It worked well for 6 or 7 years until something else went wrong with the engine ECU reducing said car to scrap.

Yep but even this adds up.

Unless your battery is in A1 condition, draw 2.4Ah per day for 2 weeks and there's a good chance the car won't start.

Used mine yesterday for the 2nd time this week.

First time was the Sunday shopping trip to Tesco, yesterday's expedition was a trip down to the dump with a car full of apple tree prunings.

I could quite happily do without a car now I have an 's bus pass, though it might be a bit tricky getting a dozen black bags of rubbish on the bus with me.

so no car required.

No, not really. There's no decent public transport here but I could get by without a car. If there was a local shop, within walking distance, I'd have sold it ages ago.
