Nope, I've changed my mind.
Research I've done tells me that a major part of the damage that results from hiding things, comes from the shame that you feel, and internalise. So in regard to these two things, I've decided to come out about them. Literally.

1. I've drawn the conclusion that I am now 90% gay - with a preference for young men in their 20's, and

2. I had a life-long addiction to porn; in recent years gay porn featuring said young men.
For the past month I've been porn free, and intended this to be permanent.

I don't want to make a big song and dance about it, as some gay men have the need to do (I know it annoys the heterosexuals - and some other gays).
One thing I have noticed is that nobody else on here is out as gay. There must be a reason, but I don't know what it is.

There is actually a serious point behind this. Which is that throughout my teens and 20's I thought that one reason guys "went gay" is because they couldn't pull girls. (E.g . men in prison without access to women.)

I don't know where I got this idea from, but it was especially pernicious to my progress towards believing I might be gay, because it framed becoming or being gay as something that resulted from having failed at something.

In fact, while there is actually some truth to it (men are generally easier to get sex with, compared with women if you are an average Joe), I now think the reason I was unsuccessful with women was that I was unconscious ly gay, causing me to be non-authentic with women, without my being aware of it. Women are not stupid, and they pick up on these things in an instant.

I'd like to think the ones on CUK who haven't outed themselves just simply don't feel the need to. We're all equally intolerant of each other. Sometimes that spills over into quite a mean slagging match but it seems that most of the time we all rub along just fine knowing that everyone gets treated with a decent level of contempt.
