I remember a program that compared 1944 to 1969 to 1994.

How much progress 44 to 69. And it stayed the same in so many ways 69 to 94.

Well, it's 25 years later, so maybe time for an update to the program.

In the last 25 years we have lost Concorde.

I suppose technology has made the world smaller so less need to travel quickly across the planet.

But humans will need to leave earth.

I am sure I read in new scientist a while ago about tentative plans for a craft that could travel at 20% the speed of light?

I doubt we'll ever have the capability/resources to do so. Seen any dolphins recently.....?

Western Black Rhino, Northern White Rhino, Northern Sumatran Rhino, Alaotra Grebe, Japanese River Otter, Formosan Clouded Leopard, Bermuda Saw-whet Owl, Golden Toad, Hawaiian Crow, Pyrenean Ibex, Spix Macaw, Liverpool Pigeon, Black Faced Honeycreeper, Yangtze River dolphin, Holdridge Toad, ...I could go on, and there's more that are only "Possibly extinct"... I was dragged in front of the TV and forced to watch it. I actually enjoyed it and enjoy remembering it.

What I object to is the deluge of news about this. Our society has way too much looking back. It needs to look forwards more.
