Sadly not true. He genuinely wants to save some poor lost CUK souls, except he's so stupid he has the opposite effect
Jesus says
Matthew 5:44
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
As such ... sasguru et al .. I have put you all on prayer list.
But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
And it's great that all Christians have followed that good advice ever since, isn't it?
You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

There was an excellent article by John Humphreys (news reader/Political Commentator) several weeks back. In that article he mentioned an interview with the Archbishop of Canterbury and they spoke about the atrocities John had seen while covering news stories.
John asked why God didn't step in and stop someone from killing e.g the Beslan massacre. The Archbishops reply was 'free will' and that we all have a choice. John then asked didn't the children have a choice *not* to get murdered?
Basically it came down to the point that God didn't get involved in our choices. Which concluded in the fascinating point that if God doesn't step in, what exactly is the point of prayer?
People that go to church pray for forgiveness, or to help someone or this that and the other. So if God does sod all about it, what is the point of it?

Chico, over to you.
As Wesley said "God does nothing save in answer to prayer". He respects our free will too much to intervene when he has not been asked. That is the simple answer. Hence why the Bible urges all Christians to pray. God is able and willing to help but we have to make the first move.

So he respects the free will of the murderer more than the person being murdered?
The more I look at this, I see it utterly pointless there being an Earth and Heaven. Why does God bother putting us all on this planet and giving us the free will to murder each other. There is no protection from God. I'm sure many people with a gun to their head are praying like crazy before the trigger is pulled. Does he step in and save them? What about the families that are left behind. The pain and suffering continues and all for what? So we can love Him?
Why not all of us just go straight to Heaven and cut out the "middle man"?
It's just ridiculous. Granted, none of us know how we all came to be. The universe must exist within something, right? I believe there is an explanation for all this, but it isn't a bearded old man sitting on a cloud.
I don't expect for a moment that we could change your mind, or you change ours. Some people just need to cling to a 2,000 year old fairytale as if it is the truth and the answer for everything.
We'll all find out the 'truth' one day. Either we become dust and that's it or we all go to a higher place where everything that has ever lived is together again. It must be a big place. How do you get around?
