you have just completely contradicted yourself. How can a country possibly be attractive to live if there are no jobs? The only things that the French are doing right is living in the most beautiful country on the planet.

graduates cant wait to go back? . But what is the point of returning to the best country (in terms of looks and climate) in the world if there are no jobs!!

There are plenty of jobs for the educated and experienced - its just hard to get a foot on the ladder - so I've been told. It also depends what sector you're in - France has a plenty of jobs in retail, manufacturing, agriculture. If you're in finance and want to make lots of money in the City then you have to come to London. Come to think of it all the French people I know work in the City.

Dodgy's expat rule

There are plenty of people who leave the big city of london/UK and move out either to the shires or abroad to a life of lower earnings slow pace, quieter lifestyle . Those who leave and remain positive about their homeland or home city are fine, I can identify somehow with what they are doing. Those who move out and then spend the rest of their lives banging on about how wonderful their new lives are are the whining losers that I cannot abide. The other group of idiots are what I call "cream lickers":

These are the ones that say travel to India and stay in 5 star hotels and think they know the country inside out. They are also ones who buy holiday homes and think the same. Little do they know that the actual people they pretend to know think that they are complete ars******.

No. Unlike you I speak from experience. I actually had an IT (programming) job there for 5 years and loved it. Only came back because the missus was missing her family. What's not to like? Great food and wine, peace and quiet, and some of the most stunning scenery in Europe. What I miss most is the short drive to the ski slopes. (guess Dodgy is right about WHY you'd want to live there). I'd go back like a shot, and I think I could find a job as well. Now just need to persuade the missus to give it another go ....

Probably agree with that. There are plenty of things I wiould miss - country pubs, walks in the country, London's nightlife etc. I just think Labour have tipped the scale, especially in London, so that the negatives outweigh the positive. Let's hope it's temporary.
