How did this unfortunate bit of larceny occur? They can't have stolen the item from the inside of your house, as you would have described it as burglary rather than theft. And they can't have taken it from your person as you walked along the street, else it would be robbery not theft.
Do you have car doors made of oak, perhaps?Comment
