Pity the policemen who revealed this are not prosecuted. Totally wrong in principle that police should reveal anything about any case unless it relates to the crime being investigated. After that and the recent failures to provide relevant evidence in rape cases I think I trust the bastards even less than politicians.

But as has been said already, the reasons behind why he was untruthful are deep and complex and absolutely nothing to do with porn on official PCs. The whole thing stinks and has done far more harm than good. If certain ex-coppers get smacked - as seems likely - and things that are irrelevant to the case in hand are kept properly confidential in future - as seems a little less likely - then that would be a good thing.Blog? Both Mr Green and the police force look terrible after this disclosure.
First of all, what was the need to go after an opposition MP, look for stuff in his laptop? Was there any suspicion of wrongdoing?
And disclosing it to media in the manner it was done, does look like politicization of the force.
As to Mr Green's sacking, I think PM took his inappropriate behaviour(to a journalist, quite possibly others) into account, not merely watching porn on work laptop.Comment
