I mean they don't automatically buy the best stuff or have good taste.

Nouveau rich... come contractors are like footballers unused to all this money they find themselves burdened with

There is a lil shop where I live called Cilla and Camilla and they specialise in kitchenware.

In that shop, I recently purchased a stainless steel one cup cafetiere for £28 and it makes the most wonderful coffee with my blend of choice - Lavazza Crema e gusto. I can take it to work on the back of my 'bent becuase it's metal and it won't break, it also has a double skin with a vacuum so the coffee stays hot while I wait for it to brew.

Unfortunately, I can see no marque or branding so I can't pass on the details so that you can but one yourself but if your ever in the SW I can highly recommend popping into Cilla and Camilla.

I pop into Cilla and Camilla a lot.

This is the modern version of it (mine is black)

Very similar to Mrs Bloggs machine too. Makes a decent brew without the machine costing an arm and a leg.

See this is what I mean... more money than sense. Of course some poor people have more money than sense too.

But it's BRUSHED stainless steel and furthermore, it sits proudly on my desk and gives me a smug "I'm alright Jack" feeling whilst the permies are sitting round me gulping down their Happy Shopper instant.

And furthermore still, a week of not going to Starbucks and it's already paid for itself.

Granted. But the coffee produced (assuming quality beans/grounds are used) is (IMVVHO) much better.

I think this is the most recent coffee machine thread.

I work from home and have always used a filter coffee machine (like in an American diner). It's great for the first cup but then it stews so you either have to drink a lot of coffee fast, or it goes to waste. It's not really that great for one person who wants coffee throughout the day, better for making a pot for a few people.

In the context of "I just want a quick cup of decent coffee without the faff of preparing and cleaning each time" what is a good option? Is this where a pod-machine would shine over a proper B2C or stove-top pot?
I drink long coffee and if I am going effort-free I want to basically just press a button, not have to separately boil a kettle. Any recommendations?
