I hope the Catalan Parliament has the moral courage to hold a confirmatory referendum with international observers, but they may not. And of course, Spain may just send in the paramilitaries again.

I doubt many international observers will meet with them, as this is not good reading of company to be in with

It's a safe bet none of the EU will recognised Catalonia, and I doubt the UN will either given the only two "disputed states" they recognise at the moment are Palestine and the Holy See

To be fair without support of either or both of those two declaring independence will not achieve anything
