Website Performance - do I just need a new laptop?

I'm referring to the current trend of using virtual lists, render on scroll type technology or whatever it's called.

It's all as unresponsive as hell on my machine when you start trying to scroll down on these sorts of pages. Actually, on my last contract I had to implement one of these & there were all sorts of performance issues that needed endless tweaking to get the damn thing to work.

I notice QDOS have now updated their site to use this abomination & it's taken 20 minutes just to click through all the screens to renew my PL insurance.

Anyone else experiencing this sort of thing or is it time for a new machine?

My PA was also annoyed at the length of time to renew the company insurances as well apparently.

Yes with a 10-year-old Dell I had. As Roy Batty said "time to die".

Your old man is still alive? Must be 120 by now, shouldn't you let him retire?
