    Grenfell rehousing

Grenfell Tower child survivor: 'Give us houses that we want' - BBC News

I am reminded of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hoover...ghts_promotion . All they get offered is a large comfortable flat when they want a large detached house in Kensington.

I love the way the CUK alt-right brigade narrative on Grenfell is more about the scrounging, feckless, demanding sub-letting tenants, and less about the actual fire that killed large numbers of actual people, in a way that should never happen in an economically advanced country.

The debt bubble has enabled people to get whatever they wanted. The notion of going to bed hungry or desiring a product that requires months and months of hard work and saving to attain, has gone.

This mass shift in emotional state has rendered the national psyche in a lower spiritual plane. Notions of arbitrage apply to relationships, the outcome of feminism has been a net loss for women, it is every man for himself.

And thus we are in a society where the past drivers of socialisation such as guilt, thriftiness, family closeness- these values no longer apply. Social media is a vehicle to get ahead. Just give me something I can f@@@@g believe in!

We now live in a money market and you better wise up or be traded out. You know how during a good film it all comes together at the end? And then you understand why things happened as they did? It's all about to become clear. Stay tuned - the endgame is starting.

If we need a more balanced view, maybe we should not be afraid to mention the first as well as the second.

Yet there you are as a low grade business analyst choking down some scrote of a PM's pole.

            Not going to end well.

No - you will get the houses you are given because you do not own it and you rely on someone else to pay for it for you.

Think some people need a wake up call on what living in your means actually means.

Those people who did own their own flat and had insurance can go down the same route as anyone else.

Ultimately it was a fire - whilst this is tragic it is a common enough occurrence that there are rules in place to govern what to do.

There could be a bit of a backlash brewing here which I picked up on LBC yesterday, around the number of flats which were being sub-let, with original tenants getting rent income + housing benefit, and now a nice new place to do so again. Just saying like...
