Anyway, as I said, I dropped the idea very quickly. It seems most agents are more moral than I thought.Comment

You could of course suggest to the agent, having talked through your CV and why you are perfect for the role, that should you be successful you would have to celebrate with them over a few beers. The problem with a money offer, especially as high as £500, is their company ethics policy won't let them accept it without reporting it. Hence they won't be allowed accept the money, but a few beers would not need to be reported
