I cycle along a canal regularly.
You would of course need to stop washing, grow dreadlocks and get a dog.
My other top tip is if a boat looks like it might sink, it quite possibly will.Comment

Look into getting a share. Pay for the 'share' and then it's maintenance costs on top. Add in Fuel etc when you take the boat out. If you don't like sell the share. We currently have a share for sale in our boat:I should really hire one for a week. The problem there is that the configuration of a hire boat isn't to my taste & I'd be going for something decked out in a more traditional style with woodburners etc

Others are available but if you wish to keep costs to a minimum buy one on a boat older than 15 years as the share price won't drop any lower.
It can be tricky when on a contract to let the client know you can't move your unavailable date.Comment
