Countries and people have always felt they have the right to defend themselves against attack and invasion. It is only in recent history in the liberal west that this has not been the case, and the latter are paying the price for their folly.Comment

These people are paying smugglers to get to they either have money or are promising to pay a lot back to organised crime probably by committing illegal acts to do so. Anything humane we can do to stop the flow is good in my opinion. We need to fix their home countries rather than bringing their problems to our shores.

The bombers were radicalised in Britain by other members of their culture. Their reasons are based on their parents experiences. In fact if you are going down the route of if they are born in britain its our fault why should we accept any more refugees?
We haven't had many native cornish or welsh suicide bombers for some reason.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

This is what makes it difficult for intelligence services and police alike - simplistic profiling is not a guaranteed method and knee-jerk reactions against particular race, religions or countries of origin will make the threat greater rather than reduce it.
Having said that, however, there did seem to be enough intelligence against the Manchester murderer that he could have been apprehended before the attack - perhaps it was thought he would lead them to bigger fish?Comment

Oh Dear. How Sad. Nevermind.
...and these refugees that the alt right on here want to "turn back with gun boats", are they all Muslim terrorists, or are some of them fleeing persecution? Are some of them fleeing bombings?
The far right on this forum would like to bomb all Muslims out of existence. They would like to destroy any country in the Middle East(*). And while they post their vile hatred on here, they struggle to see the similarity between their attitude and the actions they want/support, and the attitude and actions of the people they want to carry out their final solution on.
If all you do is tell people they must integrate, but then you preach hatred against them, how are they expected to integrate?
If you support people who supply weapons to Saudi Arabia, claiming that they are an ally and a country we should be closely linked with, yet disregard their attitudes to women, homosexuality, etc - by supporting the Tories you are saying that Muslim countries we don't bomb are OK to execute gay people, but Muslim countries we bomb are bad for doing the same thing - then how can your double standards be justified?
Don't tell me "they started it" or "look what they are doing" if you're not prepared to accept your own duplicity.
*Every country in the ME except Israel, because Israel is a special case - a country formed after their Middle Eastern religion was almost exterminated from Europe by right wingers who thought it was the best way to ensure a strong and stable future.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
