Macron winning is a positive for Brexit.

If the French had voted for LePen we would be screwed.

It's too late for the UK but thank the Lord that France is saved.

How do you reach that conclusion (bearing in mind, among other things, that Macron is a fanatical Europhiliac) ?

Switch "UK" and "France" in that, and you'd be much closer to the truth!

And it seems the way they plan to deal with it is to punish Britain for daring to leave as a stick to beat their own populations with. It did say that in the DT but I'm too mean to pay for premium articles and find out why.

Granted, our negotiations with the EU would have to take a back seat while they extracted themselves from the mess caused by France leaving, which would certainly take priority. We, as in the UK, were only ever "tolerated" because we are the 2nd biggest contributor - France is a founder member and one of the two cornerstones of the union.
