Cable about 20%. I suspect that Virgin are pursuing similar customers its just cable is frequently cheaper and more convenient in cabled areas.

Watch Sky Sports & BT Sports on the go live | Virgin Media

Possibly you are right that excluding Virgin media might have an effect I'm not sure it would be significant as both offerings are similar but limited by technology and reach.

Sky TV & broadband vs Virgin Media - Which?
The whole point of stat analysis is to quantify the words highlighted if you can.
In my daily work, if I had the Sky data, before I took the Sky analysis at face value I'd want to check and quantify any bias that using just Sky customers may or may not entail.
You may be right that Virgin demographics are the same, you may not be, you'd have to investigate further or else heavily qualify/hedge your conclusions.

    That's what causes the bias.

So Sky is slightly less than 50% of the people who have "enhanced" TV.
Might Virgin be a different demographic? - I honestly don't know.
I think just excluding Virgin users makes the sample unrepresentative.

No-one can provide irrevocable evidence of anything on either side. We don't want to be governed by the EU commissions socialist principles though.

there we have it folks, QED

The Brexiters want Brexit because they don't want to be governed by the EU, and the Brexiters have no clue in practice what this will mean and how this will end

    Good luck

how about we go a different way, it would help us Remoaners a lot if you Brexiters can show bullet proof evidence of how the UK will a) survive b) thrive c) prosper post-hard-brexit

please show us the irrevocable evidence, and you may be surprised, since we won't have any way to challenge it and we'll probably end up joining the Brexit camp

    looking forward

wake us up once you find it

My point being that picking just SKY customers will invariably introduce bias.

    E.g. Look at this:

    http://www.barb.co.uk/download/?file...rch-2016-1.pdf

Cable customers are biased towards the older (maybe wealthier?) generations - 18-34 year olds for example are less likely to have cable, so would be excluded from polling. Students are unlikely to be SKY cable customers.

Virgin customers may have a different demographic from Sky, you'd exclude them too.

Many (poorer?) people just have FreeView, you'd exclude them.

According to that report more and more tech savvy people are accessing TV srevices via the internet, you'd be exclduing them

    And so on.

    Interesting pdf thanks.

The social composition of different platforms appears as
might be expected, with the pay platforms (BT/TalkTalk/
YouView, Sky and cable) all skewing slightly towards
    higher social grades.

Since May's speech it's clear we have a new "ism"

    In the past we had:

    Communism
    Capitalism
    Moneterism

Behind these "ism"s are great thinkers.

    ...and now we have

    "Thick as pig sh*t"ism

and who is the mastermind behind this new "ism" ?
