Also, what a poorly designed website for what seems to be a leading newspaper in the country.
Are you questioning the great IT skills of India? $5 hr Java coders, how many do you want on the team?

There's a billion of them, that they're on a par with us is amazing and it was only a matter of time.

Does this mean that the UK will stop sending aid money to India and that India will start sending aid money to the UK after Brexit
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

It is amazing really that a country with a population of 1.25B has only just drawn level with a country with a population of 65M.

Just show's you how unequal the world is. The average Indian has 1/20th the wealth of the average UK citizen.

It will be a long, long time before that gap is closed.

                  No.

It means that the combined economic output of a seventh of world's population is level with the UK.

Grinding poverty and corruption will mean that aid money flows into India for many years to come.

                    Jeez, learn some history FFS.

The UK's wealth is in large part built on looting India for centuries.
When Britain took over, the states that comprised current day India accounted for 25% of wolrd GDP, when Britain left that area accounted for 3% of GDP.
Before British rule the area was prosperous enough that no one starved.
During Britiish rule, in the 40s, there was a famine that killed > 3 million people.
There has been an amazing turnaround by India considering they just liberalised the economy in 1991.
                    Hard Brexit now!

Wrong. Do you understand compounding growth rates?
A 7-8% compound growth rate is exponential in pattern, not linear.
India's growth started rocketing only in 1991 when the economy was liberalised.
There is already a sub-population in India that is the size of a large European country that has a similar standard of living.
                      Hard Brexit now!
