April 6th is a Friday - potentially, then, your last day of work on weekly pay would need to be March 24th to get on the March 31st pay run. Either that or agents would need to agree that they'll do a pay run on the Wednesday once they've seen your signed off timesheet. Logistics and timings are the key - especially for agencies to grab that extra week of commission, so it's in their own interests to be up to speed on this.

We then hit a question regarding the definition of paid. Thinking about my last agency (payment setup / made on Wednesday, payment received Friday) which day is the appropriate day for the phrase paid.

Granted the above is all semantics but the devil is in the detail and the detail is being intentionally hidden from everyone. even S3 are just implementing things on rumours, hunches and best guess work...

Andy stated that it was agency paid date that counts. Based on that statement, I've made my assertion above.

For those who don't frequent the IPSE forums and are members - someone (not me) has just posted a real question. Wait a few hours I suspect the answer will be illuminating...

The IPSE website is horrible and useless like the organisation itself, difficult to find even how to log in and the forum is also almost unfindable

Compared to the PS saga, that's easy. To get it over with quicker when she's not fully in the mood. Next.

I thought it was so that IPSE had something to get on.

Does IPSE's IR35 protection/insurance hold up for contractors who stay in the PS and find themselves suddenly inside IR35, on the assumption HMRC go fully 'retrospective'?

I've floated the question among some people I know who are still there, and planning to work inside IR35 (if it happens). The sentiment I'm getting is that IPSE will be there to protect them should the tulip hit the fan. Reasonable enough? IPSE's silence would suggest so. Either that or they are afraid to spook the herd by saying otherwise.
