That is hardly a fair analysis. It could well be argued that the USA/UK meddling has not helped as much as it was hoped, but prior to our intervention there was plenty of "suffering" being dished out by a variety of bloodthirsty dictators in the middle east region.Originally posted by stek View Post
I'm not vain or virtuous, I just don't like seeing people suffer, and then vilified for seeking a way out of it, especially when the suffering is a direct consequence of USA/UK meddling.
Whilst I accept we have to hold our hands up to making a bit of a hash of our Exit strategy, we have only been a small part of the overall problem.
Not that this stops us getting a disproportionate share of the overall blame in order to appease the handwringing lefties, with their over-developed guilt complexes.

Why is it paki bashing? does everything have to be wrapped up into an emotive cliche just to make you look virtuous? Are you actually incapable of understanding the complexities of what Brendan O'Neill is talking about?Originally posted by stek View PostOh well, I tried....
Let the paki-bashing continue...

we can only keep trying, We would be failing in our duty to humanity if we didn't.Originally posted by stek View PostKind of agree, but I'd go further, but it's hard to do now since the old regimes are gone. I'm left as left can be, but even I know some peoples need a hard regime to start from.
Thing is it's probably too late now, take Iraq and maybe Libya, controlled by nutters, largely under control though, very few emigres, peoples 'in check'. In come the West to 'liberate' bedlam.
Try to establish Western-style democracy, doesn't work, they've had a taste of both what to do?
I dunno, you can't fix it by trying to reverse it. Have to accept it.
If a Dictator creates a reasonably healthy society then fine, Cuba for instance seems to have done reasonably well out of it I wouldn't suggest we try to change that, just hope they find democracy when they need to.Comment

All the people I know who house homeless peoples, etc, would certainly fit that category in your opinion.Originally posted by DodgyAgent View PostYou can bet that it wont be any of the wailing leftie liberals stepping forward.
It's certainly got going to be the right-wing types doing it, until they spot a way to make money out of it,Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

I doubt your anecdotal "evidence" has any truth to it but at least "right wing" people do not pretend to be virtuousOriginally posted by d000hg View PostAll the people I know who house homeless peoples, etc, would certainly fit that category in your opinion.
