All I know due to the different children I know and have known over the years some of them look up to 5 years older than their actual age. On the other hand others look up to 4 years younger.
Kids who are fat or have lived hard lives tend to look older."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

I knew a kid who at 11 had to shave every day and was already 6' - he was regularly being ID checked to prove he was entitled to child reduction. He levelled out at 6' 7".
I interact regularly with the local refugees (Syria, Afghanistan, Eritrea). Many of the kids do look adult, but you only have to talk to them for a little while to realise they're really not. Even the adults tend to be small though .Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

I am guessing that this is some kind of deal with the French that we will take a bundle before they clear the camp.
I would also guess that a reasonable proportion will be flown back to where they came from once they 'turn 18'.Comment

Britain cannot deport asylum seekers who have 'no place to go', says minister - Telegraph
Britain is powerless to deport thousands of illegal migrants because they have nowhere to go, a Home Office minister has admitted, as new figures showed asylum seekers arriving in Europe more than doubled last year.
Richard Harrington, who is overseeing the Government’s commitment to receive 20,000 Syrian refugees, said most illegal immigrants have "got no place to be deported to".Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment
