If you breakdown the 55% that voted no you'll find the majority of them were not Scot's. In fact they were mostly EU nationals, and folks from England. What's the housing situation like in Scotland? I get a feeling 16 million people might want to move up there if they gain independence. I imagine a great many number of concerned EU nationals will likely vote for independence this time round.

It's well documented that Polish folk living in Scotland were told by Better Together that in the event of Independence they would have to go home as Scotland would be outside the EU.

Old folk were told they would lose their pensions.

Banks said workers would lose their jobs if we voted Yes and they would move HQs to London

All these people voted No out of fear.

All the arguments against Scottish Independence have been destroyed by the Tories in the last two years. They have nothing else to frighten us with now the economy has gone down the pan with Brexit.

Everything Westminster vowed during Indyref - more powers, etc - haven't been delivered. They said we should lead, not leave the UK but we are being dragged out of the EU against our will and the Tories will do it without it going through parliament.

I was suggesting that things like a central bank and a currency are being put in place because we lost in 2014. The link was an example of how things are starting to progress on the financial side of things. The SNP as well as the wider grassroots Yes movement have been working on the economic case since then.

If you think the UK will retain the banking passport when the EU27 want to punish them then you are dreaming. London will lose it's financial centre to other places within the EU. Hopefully Scotland will be one of them.

There are very differing ideas as to how much the passport is worth....

A national investment bank is a mechanism to funnel (waste) government spending on infrastructure and other pale shades of elephant. A central bank is responsible for money supply, financial stability, and regulation of commercial banks. You need a currency for starters. It's like comparing a deep-fried Mars Bar with an 8-course menu at the Ritz.
