      Do I:

      1) Fire him

      3) Do nothing

Will come onto the other management issues later but he's a first time contractor and a right pain in the arse
One's first reaction is to terminate his contract however as he is a first timer. First give him a firm word and tell him that the next instance will result in the forthwith termination of his contract.

I think you will find such an activity is classed as 'mail fraud' in the US and is a criminal matter as soon as his invoice is posted.

Practical problem - can you prove it? If so, fire him. If somebody needs "a quiet word" before they are prepared to be honest they are tulipe anyway.

CONTRACTOR + PAIN IN THE ARSE = "50% rate cut or Notice period"

Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

              I preferred version 1!

Nope! I'm working and looking like I'm about to be extended.

Also, having read the various comments from fred, I'd not read in too much into anything he posts
