    Do I:

    1) Fire him
    2) Have a quiet but firm word
    3) Do nothing

Will come onto the other management issues later but he's a first time contractor and a right pain in the arse
Ask him how the hours got on there ... find out all the facts 1st before you act.

Submitting a dodgy timesheet is fraud. Fire him.

                No.

But it concerns contractors and I'd appreciate the input of contractors on this matter and some other issues as well.

I am currently a permy with a team of contractors but have been a contractor myself.

I didn't realise that anyone who was perm was barred from this site.

Don't pay attention to those types - most of them on here would like Narcissus prefer company of a mirror.

MF in particular is an old, bitter contractor who likes hurting small and cuddly things.

Alright. Have a word with him. Tell him to make the time up.
Then if he gives you tulip - fire him.

Remember contractors are the scum of the earth and should be treated as such.
