How on Earth can one use the rep system viciously? AFAICS the only buttons are "Thanks" and "Like", neither of which seems at all vicious.

Nah, that's not rep. Hit the star and you can leave +ve or -ve with a comment. It's the comments that were vicious.

Click the Settings option on the menu at the top and you can see what people have put...

Or did you know that and you are trying to feign ignorance to try cover your tracks???

Here's another tip. Look out for a "star" button below the "OwlHoot" logo, whenever you see that, and get into the habit of clicking it automatically.
