I genuinely believe that if people / MPs understood just how quickly you can go on a motorbike for the cost of a cheap second hand car they'd be way more regulated.

175bhp in a light Alfa is pretty fast.
I replaced 170bhp Alfa with 245bhp V6 4WD. The Alfa was more fun to drive.

You could have replaced it with a 240bhp Alfa. That said, you could get a Cayman S for not much more than a 4C, so why wouldn't you?

But you're correct, my current R1 (1999 model, same as my first one) cost me 2.5k in 2009. Even though second hand, to match it's performance you'd need to be spending 10s of 1000s for a car

Motorbikes off road are a bit of fun - on road, different story. One of my neighbours had a big off about 4 years ago, was very lucky to survive it, and still hasn't recovered properly. Can't walk or talk properly, will probably never work again, and it's a shame because he wasn't exactly a mental biker - just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
