Firstly you don't go into a negotiation saying : "If we don't get what we like then we might vote to stay" .... because obviously you're negotiation position is completely shot before you've started. Why would anyone give any ground if they don't believe you'll follow through?
Secondly .... and more importantly. Once Article 50 is invoked it starts a 2 year count-down. From that point on it's up to the remaining EU countries whether you remain in or not. There is no : "Change your mind at the last minute and remain in" option.Comment
