Theresa May's Brexit negotiations with the European Union will be "more difficult" if she cuts corporation tax, European leaders have warned.

Stefan Loefven, the Swedish Prime Minister, said that any "aggressive" tax cuts by Britain will damage relations with the European Union.

It comes as Philip Hammond, the Chancellor, prepares to "reset" Britain's fiscal policy in his Autumn Statement by cutting taxes and borrowing to invest in infrastructure.

Mr Loefven said that Brexit "shouldn’t take longer than necessary" but also suggested that Mrs May is entitled to wait until beginning the formal process of exiting the European Union.

Translation: The rest of Europe is quietly (or not quite so quietly) crapping themselves that the UK may come out of this rather well. They're not smart enough to realise that there's more than one way out of their problem, and it doesn't include the EU. Too many snouts, not enough troughs (or functioning brain cells).
His heart is in the right place - shame we can't say the same about his brain...

Well, he's more than one step ahead of you. Projectile vomiting with a touch of despair is closer to the mark where your infantile crap hits the screen.

Well that will probably happen and the elite in the Uk will follow, leaving a rump of thickos behind

You assume that there are only just enough "smart" people doing the difficult jobs at the moment.

10 minutes working in any company in the UK ( or indeed Europe ) will tell you that there are a lot of clever people doing jobs that do not tax them to their full abilities. This is not a lack of ambition or drive on their part but simply the way companies are structured.

When I worked in the corporate environment it was full of despondent people going through the motions, going to pointless meetings and generally just time-wasting because frankly they could do the job they were asked to do in 20 hours a week, not the expected 40.

In this forum every so often a contractor will start a thread that goes along the lines of "I am really bored at work. I have so many skills but don't get to apply them." That is not a one-off. That is the daily lives of many people working in modern UK companies.

The UK is full of people who've been educated to a high level yet are unable to find challenging jobs.

If the current incumbents of those roles decided to move to an EU country then I have no doubt that the vacancy they leave would be rapidly filled.

We have this thing called an "Educational System". There is a pipeline of new joiners entering the workforce every year. Some of whom are smart.

There is not a finite pool of smart, high-achievers. New ones are born every day.

Your biggest ( among many ) flaws is that when you perceive a problem or you appear totally unable to imagine a solution.

that 10-15% will go with them.
Have to disagree. This may be true for the 'Financiers' (and that %'age being gross earnings) but not true for those in the knowledge economy. Trinity College in Cambridge was/is home to many Nobel prize winners (32 since 1904, with Cambridge as a whole bagging 92 in every discipline).

Poor AssGuru, so obviously a life failure, stuggling to grasp some simple concepts.

You cretins make me larf, you're so thick.

There's all these posts about how great the people are and how much talent there is blah blah.
That may well be true but how come then we have the lowest productivity, highest current account deficit and one of the highest debts of any western country?
How come we come about 20th on the country rankings for maths and science?

Let's see whether these weaknesses will be exposed in the coming years or whether they miraculously disappear.

How many of the millions of immigrants are top science and maths geniuses, and how many are down the supermarket cleaning cars or picking fruit?

It's quite simple - a substantial proportion of London immigrants are highly educated, since that is where the money is, the vast majority of immigrants elsewhere aren't.
Anyway we had full employment with all these immigrants, skilled or not, lets see how the unemployment rate pans out over the next 5 years or so.

"Full employment" with falling wages, implemented by axing millions of well paid full time jobs and replacing them with lots more low paid part time jobs. Unemployment fixed. Well done Osborne.

Nothing to do with immigration - same thing in Japan which has virtually zero immigration.
Anyway if you think the Tories who are going to rule for at least the next 10 years are going to improve the lot of the common worker as opposed to their business chums, you're a deluded fool.
