Protectionism - read all about. It's where England seems to be heading with both feet.

"In economics, protectionism is the economic policy of restraining trade between countries through methods such as tariffs on imported goods, restrictive quotas, and a variety of other government regulations designed to allow (according to proponents) fair competition between imports and goods and services produced domestically. According to their proponents, protectionist policies protect the businesses and workers within a country by restricting or regulating trade with foreign nations.[1] In recent years, protectionism has manifested itself through popular anti-globalization and anti-immigration movements.

The doctrine of protectionism contrasts with the doctrine of free trade, where governments reduce as much as possible the barriers to trade. There is a broad consensus among economists that the impact of protectionism on economic growth (and on economic welfare in general) is largely negative."

Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Tariffs on goods are 10% I believe.
No passporting on financial services, well that simply means banks will have to move high-tax-paying staff to the EU.
Additionally I believe FDI will fall drastically, makes no sense to invest in Britain's small market.

How big an impact? Can't say.
              Hard Brexit now!

Which is a bit different from the "all trade will stop" spin that he and pooperscoop seem to be trying to tell us.
