Maybe this will accelerate trials to put more automation into trucks. Makes sense that there should be more safeguards on these heavy things.

If they can build reliable anti-collision into cars then trucks should have it too. Not only to stop running over people/cyclists but also to stop motorway collisions where the driver is is at fault.
Maybe tomorrow, I'll want to settle down. Until tomorrow, I'll just keep moving on.

I think now it makes sense to have armed UK officers at all large gathering of people 24/7. So armed officers at stadiums, big city train stations, airport arrivals and departure buildings, etc.

Funnily enough, the UK has quite a bit of experience from the IRA/INLA/RIRA/etc doing the same thing in the 70s, 80s & 90s.

Was the violence in "The Troubles" sorted out by more violence or not?

Hopefully young people in the UK & Ireland learned from that. It appears some older ones didn't.
…Maybe we ain’t that young anymore

The scum bag was known to the cops for domestic violence and other crimes.

Quick prayer at the mosque then home to beat the wife and kids.

                Isn't it always the way?

As one vicar once told me a small portion of his flock came to church on Sunday so they can be unpleasant the rest of the week with a clear conscience.

                    1. Conduct Risk Assessment
                    2. Wait for backup
3 then they can drive to where it is going, jump out the car, get the guns from the boot and by that time Mohammed Al Semtex is another 50km down the road.
