I've done that. It's on my doorstep. Just not in one go

Clough road out of Slaithwaite to Bolster moor is a right tw@ (18.7k). Not a glamour section, just a grunt. At least you'll be fresh... I've not been over Holme Moss this summer, but last time out the TDF grafitti was still on the road by way of encouragement. Good luck

It's not that far from me, about 40 miles away, but Holme Moss is one of those I've just not got around to doing. Figured if I was going to do then might as well do it properly

That's got more hills than the 1 day coast to coast (Seascale to Whitby via Hawes) we saw finish in Whitby last Saturday

Makes sense The first bit out of Holmbridge and up past the silver band clubhouse is worst. After that it settles down to being just a long drag.

I clocked 50mph on the northern descent, which was great till my keys fell out of my jersey pocket and it took me half a mile to stop

It's going to be my biggest ride this year, and to be fair it's got me worried. Will just have to see how it goes on the day.

I've swapped out the rear cassette for one with some bigger cogs, gone from 11-28 to 12-32 in the hopes that it will give me an easier ride on the steep bits. Gave it a test run yesterday and it does seem to work.
