Bild were pretty kind with their pledges.

Seriously, if you believed the 350 million thing then you are really are a chump. We will never see any of that money if we are going to be in the single market. As Merkel said today... It comes at a price.
I am not actually complaining – I fully understood & expected both sides to lie brazenly, I am more surprised that both sides are, so soon after the event, ‘fessing up to it

Because we NEVER were part of the Schengen agreement. if they had any brains they would be operating a secure border on the other side of their country so that they wouldn't have such a horrific situation... Open borders was a anarchists dream and its no wonder that its probably going to destroy the EU..

We could always suspend the use of ferry and rail connections temporarily say a year or two. that would solve the problem as there would no longer be a border crossing..

Only if you look at it in terms of illegal migration. The benefits of an open land-border are obviously huge, and the costs of managing hundreds of miles of border also huge and never going to be effective in keeping people out anyway - just ask an American. Schengen never made sense for the UK because being an island (NI excepted) you probably need some kind of identification anyway so may as well have passport controls.

It makes sense logistically for the UK to manage its border in France, but the French probably weren't expecting to have to deal with the quantity of migrants. The solution ought to be us helping to deal with the problems in Calais more than we do.

Can you explain how France and Spain can secure a border of mountains?

Unfortunately geographic means that it is not always possible for a country to secure a border especially when neither country can be strictly sure where the actually border is.

He had to say that to stop everyone voting leave.

After the vote there was a surge in Brits googling 'What is the EU'

That is something to be ashamed of. There are so many chumps in the UK.

The point is they cannot which is why allowing the free movement of people across mainland Europe was allowed - mainly because there was no way you could stop it - so not really a decision to allow it more a decision not to spend money trying to stop it - and then tell everyone it is a 'good thing' and we 'allowed' it.

Obviously as England is not part of mainland Europe quite clearly different rules need to apply because we do have to manage our borders (which we do) and so we do not really need to sign up to the 'free movement of people is a good thing and we allow it' bollox.
