This has always been the problem with refugee/migrants. Once out of their country of origin they should be found and put into a holding camp registered and then world agreement would randomly disperse them to one of the states based on agreed figures. No one from Africa or the Middle East should be able to get to France's borders, they should have been noticed and handled... -
It's against the Council of Europe agreed European convention on human rights. (This is different from the EU as includes 47 European countries including Russia) In short unless the refugees/migrants are criminals we can't put them in camps and keep them there.Originally posted by bobspud View PostThis has always been the problem with refugee/migrants. It's precisely because it's nothing to do with the EU that means that it will be one of the bargaining chips used by France when the UK open up post-Brexit negotiations with them.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostI read that.
The Mayor Calais is throwing her toys out of the pram as the Mayor of Calais always does.

Probably a lot are the same people who were previously denouncing referenda on the grounds that our elected politician know best, telling us that our electorate are uneducated, thick etc.
Which rather begs the question, if the average UK citizen is too ignorant to vote on an issue like EU membership why can they be trusted to make the right choice at elections? May as well go back to the good old days of emperors. Fount of wisdom, Caligula was.bloggoth
