You never have though. You voted for your MP last time around, and more people voted for their Tory MP than the other lot so we have a conservative government. That clearer? -

You can join the Conservative party for £25/year and take part in the rank and file elections for the new leader/PM.
Of course, only worth doing so if you are a Tory voter.
