Lots of people blaming Muslims on the basis of no information whatsoever, by any chance? They'd feel pretty silly now it looks like it was a white British right-winger if they were capable of ever accepting they're in the wrong, but I get the impression they think white British right-wingers can only ever be in the right

Nope, muslims weren't mentioned in what I read. They were blaming Brexiteers and/or remainers.
