Well as someone who has lived in a country where there were 2 doors into shops labelled 'Whites Only' and 'Blacks Only' I think I know what racism is...“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.” -

No, I never said I want 'good' migrants. I want migrants who fulfil a national skills and expertise need. I don't care where they come from as long as they are high quality high calibre candidates. This is exactly what a points based system is all about.Originally posted by dx4100 View PostOne day you say you want the "good" migrants and then the next day you say you want lots of refugees in place of the workers.
I think you are desperately trying to escape the hole you have dug but you are too transparent and it isn't working.
Like all outters you are all over the place when challenged.
As for refugees, I think Cameron is right to screen the most vulnerable in Turkey and Syrian border countries.
There is clearly a goldilocks figure, not too many, not too few; which balances the complex issues involved. I have suggested a figure, which is more than anyone else has done on this thread.Comment

We pretty much have that without the EU.Originally posted by PurpleGorilla View PostI would like us as a nation to have some intelligent debate about who and how many.
Personally, I would like to keep net migration below 200000, with say 50000 for refugees.
I'd like to hear the official Leave campaign announce that they plan to keep net migration of around 250,000 and see the reaction. The polls would swing heavily to remain overnight. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

I guess you didn't understand my point that living in a poor country doesn't make you an Asylum seeker.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostI guess you didn't understand all stek's points as living in a very poor country doesn't always equal living in a war zone.
In fact his last point is one you brexiters use to point out how the EU is damaging trade and the development of poorer nations.
Are you willing to give up your prosperity so they can come to the UK? Or do you like any sensible person believe we should make their country better?
Its the slums there or here decision. I would prefer they were there. It will cost us much less to fix over there.
I'm sure we are damaging smaller nations, with the EU's arrogance we are probably damaging them a lot.Comment

Don't you get it? Most people have had enough of mass migration and ghettos?Comment

Errr yes. That was the point. Why would more people vote leave if the Leave campaign told the truth that Brexit won't make much difference to immigration?Originally posted by vetran View PostFTFY

I know this thread went off in an entertaining, but dubious tangent, but I agree with what David Cameron said and all remainers have said which is that immigration is too high. We just don't agree that Brexit is any kind of solution. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Half of overall migration is from the EU. These are recorded figures from a survey. We don't count them in or out. The suggestion is that we issued twice as many NI numbers to EU migrants as we believe are here so its probably near twice that.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostErrr yes. That was the point. If we stop that "270,000" then net migration would be 60,000 so tens of thousands. Of course as WE CANNOT CONTROL THAT NUMBER it is part of the solution to control it.

According to this there are 8693 polish people in Slough, every small shop is now labelled Polski Sklep so obviously they are big spenders.Comment
