If we stop that "270,000" then net migration would be 60,000 so tens of thousands. Of course as WE CANNOT CONTROL THAT NUMBER it is part of the solution to control it.
But you've said, or at least Mauve Monkey said, that you don't plan to reduce that number by much. 250,000 was the target mentioned.

And to achieve what you want absolutely nobody from the EU would qualify under the "points based" system. Unless you're going to specifically exclude people based on nationality, which I don't think you are, then probably most EU migrants will qualify anyway. After all we let in 277,000 people from outside the EU every year.

I agree having control sounds good. But it's only a box ticking exercise. It won't solve any of the problems and only hurts British citizens. My point was that the Leave campaign should be honest about it.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I suggested a total net migration figure of less than 200,000. This is a generous figure, attempting to balance the complex issues involved.

Quite what figure others would want, is anyone's guess. But certainly people concerned about migration numbers want it less than the 330,000 current number.

As for saying a points based system, which we haven't even designed yet, wouldn't work; is a stupid thing to say. Surely some form of control is better that no control?

The UK has a strong need for healthcare professionals, teachers, engineers. It does not have a strong need for cat washers or coffee barristas.

As I said the true figure is expected to be much larger.

Having the legal right to say no is hardly a 'box ticking exercise'. The Bremainers ask for facts & honesty the lack of control over immigration is one of them. That we have definitely been lied to about.

Once we re-establish control over our borders I suspect we will be horrified how many people are actually here.

That's without the 1.5 million Turks that will imminently have free access to the whole of the EU obviously.

If a lefty middle class socialist calls me racist and I punch them in the face am I racist?

What if the lefty middle class socialist is not white - is that racist when I punch them?

We have become so concerned about being racist that it seems a racist is now a white man with an opinion.

And god forbid you are a white man who likes your country and has an opinion as then you are a racist xenophobic bigot.

Seriously guys, fook off, having an opinion that we do not want thousands of unregistered migrants coming into our country is not a racist point of view is simply trying to protect ourselves.

There is another thing - we are an island once people arrive here they rarely leave

Migrants on Mainland Europe could travel through 6 countries in a day if needed so maybe that's whey they should have freedom of movement - because they cannot actually fookin stop it.

I think its more you punching someone and not being able to control yourself which is more of an issue than your racism....

It this lack of control and anger that no doubt led to yesterdays awfulness. You keep on being part of Project Hate.

White male in the UK now = little englander

                      Didn't you get the memo?

Quite how 'little englander' is not patronising, and mildly bigoted, I don't know!
