I'm never quite sure what the usual process of pointing out flaws in other religions after an Islamic terrorist attack does to stop the inevitable and never far off next one.

Yup, all religious and all by immigrants.

Or, all by people with easy access to guns.

In which case, how was a "mentally ill" individual able to buy heavy assault weapons? After all, it is people who kill people, but guns do tend to come in handy...

He also pledged allegiance to al Nusra. IS and al Nusra are sworn enemies. It's like an American of Irish descent saying he supports the IRA and the UDF.

In other words: he was a nutter. Even his attempt to portray himself as an Islamic terrorist is so out of whack it makes no sense at all.

As both his ex-wife and his father have said that he had no religious inclinations whatsoever, I think it's best to ascribe this to a combination of lunacy, homophobia, and easily-available weaponry, rather than trying to blame it on a religion followed by around 1.6 billion people who don't commit acts of terrorism.

I think NF is right on this one.

Can we please stop relying on his family members to be reliable witnesses. His local mosque confirm he had been a regular there for years and even took his ex wife's son there 2 days before the shootings. The Saudis have admitted he had been to mecca twice for pilgrimage. Yet he is now painted as someone with no "religious inclinations".

As for now widely accepted 'truth' he was mentally ill. This was made by his ex wife who as far as I am aware has no medical training, she offered up no supporting information on any treatment and no medical body has come forward to say he was seeking or being given treatment for mental issues. I'm pretty sure most ex wife claims their ex husband is mentally ill. If they were to be believed Brillo would have been chained to a hospital wall for the last decade. So I think we can file the ex wife's claims under pish. As for the Dad he is clearly quite clearly missing a few screws.

As for the 1.6 billion mulsims, being a gay person in pretty much every Islamic country in the world is a death sentence, either judicially or extra judicially. Let's not paint this out to be him with a single warped view, the whole feckin religion has a problem with gay people.

                      They were in different countries.

There are terrorist attacks always going on around the world.

The majority happen in Muslim countries against other Muslims.
