We have a shortage off maths and physics teachers. Let's boost the number of, erm, history teachers? The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world that he didn't exist -
Most people don't become teachers from what they study - the point of going to uni is not to become a teacher.Originally posted by LondonManc View PostWe have a shortage off maths and physics teachers. Let's boost the number of, erm, history teachers?
I don't think many people are going to decide "oh well I can't do a history degree, I'll become a maths teacher".

No, but the other way "I can't do a maths degree, I'll become a history teacher" is definitely doable.Originally posted by d000hg View Post....

Fact is - maths/physics require far more intellect than history/english/media studies.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

You'd imagine the loans would be a lot smaller. Fees were circa £1600 round then I think. Any which way, it was early days and not mega bucks as it is today.Originally posted by Drei View PostHmm what about the student loans for people before 2000? The loan is for life

The nerds make the cool stuff, the people who use it to change the world generally studied history or classics or something. Think about it, your typical engineer or scientist is really NOT someone you'd want in charge. For a start, they find things like administration and management boring and people need to be interested in what they do.Originally posted by DimPrawn View Postdoohg travels on a flying carpet and uses crystals to heal.

It's precisely the kind of closed mind "techies are the only important ones" thinking that demonstrates techies shouldn't be in charge.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment
