Democratically elected representative accountable to the people.
If we were outside the EU the rest of the EU countries would have tariffs, and we would have no tariffs plus no steel industry thanks to Gidiot.

When left wing and right wing papers agree the government has been incompetent then the government has been incompetent.

      Yes we know that

The point is trade policy is not in the hands of the British Government. Vote for whoever you like but our British government cannot block Chinese goods. Our British government cannot impose tariffs.

      Its up to the EU.

But UK already forced its own policy on EU by blocking tariffs on steel, do you understand that?

Being outside of EU would make UK much more easier to influence by China.

          Fixd.

Witness the attempts by the Tories to try and fudge their own inaction by talking about the EU. The reality is that, if we left, successive gov'ts would no longer be able to hide behind the EU, and they all do it (regularly).

No is you (and a few others) who don't seem to understand that.

Germany, France and a few other EU nations wanted to impose steel tariffs on the Chinese. Gidiot blocked it.

Gidiot's been claimed by some in Europe as working on behalf of the Chinese.

So instead Germany, France and a few others have been giving state aid to their steel industries.

Now the steel unions, steel company management, current backbench Tory MPs, former Tory MPs, MEPs from a lot of parties, opposition MPs from all parties and giants of British industry are accusing Cameron, Gidiot, Javid and Soubry of working on behalf of the Chinese.

Some of the people speaking like Tory MP David Davies are for brexit.

You and a few others need to wake up and stop blaming the EU for the f***ing mess that this government and previous governments have made of the UK. If we are out of the EU these f***wits will still screw up. However this time they will blame the treaties they negotiated on why they f***ed up.

I was removing my swear words from my post.

If we brexit successive UK governments will blame the treaties that were negotiated on exit on why they can't do things.

In short they will continue to find a scapegoat rather than admit they are useless. Also because we will still be a member of NATO and the ECHR they will blame things on that.

Oh this the other f*** up I noticed today - Falkland Islands left with no ships.

You also know about that gravity malarkey, but don't think far ahead that you'd kill yourself by jumping off a big cliff.

British voters don't control the Govt - any Govt, all of them want to make sure of it.

That's why there are very few referendums - the Govt does not want voters to interfere, that should be changed to Swiss system - all important decisions should be voted by the people because scumbags from all parties can only be trusted to look after their own short term interests (and even that do badly).

In fact I need to correct it - being outside of EU would make China a lot less interested in UK as they would be unable to bribe UK Govt to influence EU policy in the interests of China...

So China will invest somewhere else instead, say Poland?

I have no doubt they'd continue to try, but they'd find it much more difficult. Afterall, they tried this time too, despite the obvious evidence to the contrary, and they've been called out on it, even by normally supportive rags like the Fail (I say, normally, because the Fail aren't very supportive of late, being in favour of brexit).
