I have private health insurance already - it's enabled me to bypass the horrendous waiting lists on the NHS.
But then I believe in self-reliance and hard work, you know those fuddy-duddy values that aren't relevant anymore because you can just print money and hand it out
Build your wall, just make sure you let out all the energetic and intelligent Scots who'll be flocking South to rule the country, as they have done for centuries.

Private health care, good riddance! I'm with the NHS until the end. I never once accepted any private health care plan when offered as a free benefit here.
But hey, live the libertarian "I got mine" dream, see how far you get on your own steam, I'm sure someone will still be willing to lend a hand to save your sorry ass once reality catches up with you.
Regarding your last point, there are always people ready to take easy money regardless of the strings attached. Not something to be proud of if you're having to bribe people to buy into your bulltulip.

Not only do you not understand economics but you have problems with basic English comprehension.
Plus you're full of crap - what does your last sentence even mean? That people who move to places with more economic opportunity are there to "take easy money regardless of the strings attached." and "bribe people to buy into your bulltulip."? What sort of assumptions do you have to make to come up with a conclusion like that?
I'm beginning to think your IQ must be a little low. Let me guess - non-rigorous degree from an ex-polytechnic?

Out of interest what is it about this that makes you so virtuous? Or is that you think that saying this somehow makes you virtuous? Surely if you truly gave a sh*t you would pay for your healthcare and take pressure off the NHS
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

It's called "virtue signalling" i.e I'm a superior human being because I'm a socialist.
It's a first world phenomenon.
The millions who have been lifted from absolute poverty in India and China in the last 20 years by the adoption of policies that broadly fall under the rubric of capitalism think he's a too.

Buying private insurance undermines the NHS, that's what I'm saying. But do what you like.
@sassy I thought you were making a historic reference, not stating that the apparently overcrowded and stressed English nation was the land of milk and honey today. I'm sure you and the other Eurosceptics will agree at some point whether your country is screwed and tapped out or has plenty of riches to go it alone. Hell why not use both narratives - it's not like the quitters are really thinking, right?
And no, I don't have an IT degree. Jesus, you think I'd study this stuff in university?

Ah I get it! You're just typing random tulip as it comes to your head.
That's the only reason I can think of as to why you call me a Eurosceptic in a thread I started entitled "Why I'll be voting to stay in Europe".
And also if you think "IT" is a rigorous degree, things are much worse than I thought.
But I go by Occam's razor, so I'll just come to the conclusion that the obvious explanation is the correct one: you're just not very bright.

I can't say I understand why you're not a Eurosceptic. If you think privatisation and voting Tory are keys to success for this country you're not saying too much different, but then the EU in/out thing has always been an internal Tory debate, hasn't it?
And my comment about studying IT in university wasn't anything to do with saying it's rigorous, it's to do with saying it's a waste of time.
I've had things like private physio, dental treatment and blood tests.
My private treatment ensures that the physio, dentist and lab can still provide NHS facilities because they earn enough not to go fully private.
I always felt that doctors and dentists suffered from what I would call left/right syndrome. Compared to the vast majority of the population, they are very well paid - even for purely NHS work. However, they only chat amongst themselves (ie looking to the left and right instead of up and down) and quite often feel hard done by. Yes, they have a five year course, and many years of further study, but this training is still mainly at the tax payers' expense. It's something like £600K to get to consultant level. They also have a defined career path, handsome pension and a good level of prestige that comes with the job.
