Not my 'mates' numpty. I am politically unaffiliated, for the record.Originally posted by Paddy View PostDavid Cameron's speech in 2015 urged parliament to support the bombing of Syria. He claimed there were 400,000 Syrian "rebels" who need UK arms ans support. Those rebels turned out to be ISIS. Your Tory mates caused much of the refugee problems.
The RAF contribution to the Syrian migrant crisis is rather small in comparison to that of their Russian equivalents (who are still there now). Just because someone in the common room said it's all the fault of the F***ing Tories, doesn't make it so. In this case, it isn't; you might want to read that speech again, so here's a link:

So where does this purported 5000pp figure come from? Presumably someone must have asked a refugee how much they paid, if so, was their a follow-up question as to how they came up with this amount of money? Inquiring minds would be interested to the whole story behind this figure...Originally posted by Mordac View PostWhere does a genuine refugee* find the money (around £5000pp reportedly) to make the extremely dangerous journey?
*As in somebody fleeing war-torn Syria, for example.
One wonders what the French authorities are doing about the gangs who are making c.£100k every time a boatload of twenty or so makes the crossing, whether or not they are caught, or worse, drown. They are the real cause of the problem.“Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.”Comment
