Dunno. I wasn't really thinking about the precise details of walls anyway, as it's quite obvious that the Pope was using the wall as a metaphor for the deep spiritual corruption, incomprehension of basic social morality, and wholehearted embrace of selfish greed embodied by Trump, his believers, and the foul policies springing from hatred of others that he espouses.

From an establishment that seeks to cover up paedo priests in it's midst, and their attempts to prevent the use of contraception in Africa causing needless deaths mean they're hardly in a place to call the moral high ground

Even for a wazzock like Trump
Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.

No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.

It apparently follows from their religion... what did you expect - rational science based approach?

At least they are not calling for crusades anymore and don't send the Spanish Inquisition after you ...

Well in fairness, by default they are because they are mostly fast asleep. They can do less damage that way.

Or there's this bit down the road, which is a bit like a wall but with big gaps in: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@41.90...7i13312!8i6656

Up the road there's definitely some walls, but only because there are buildings which they presumably didn't want to leave open to the elements. Oh, and there's a big open gate: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@41.90...7i13312!8i6656

Finally, a wall! It's round the back by the museum: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@41.90...7i13312!8i6656

So you should find it quite easy to get in. Rather like the Mexican border, whether Trump builds his ridiculous wall or not
Go for it. I'll buy you a ticket if you would be so kind as to record the Swiss Guards watching you stroll around the gardens.

Pope attacks WASPs and backs Catholic Mexicans. SHOCKER.

Nice soundbite, but utter rubbish. There are only 26 of them + 1 who happens to be a Rabbi. Hardly a majority. Perhaps a very small influence. But certainly they can't vote down a bill all by themselves.

                What are you after?
                1. Complete abolition so there's no check on the government?
                2. Removal of anyone who holds religious office from the HoL? (Currently 26 Bishops and 1 Rabbi)
                3. Partial democratisation?
                4. Full democratisation?

Apart from option 1, the HoL will still be able to vote down government bills. But of course, the HoC can force them through anyway, so what's the problem?

Which of the defeats listed here do you think were bad things?
Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!

Still Trump did come out with a profound retort:

In a press release timed to coincide with his rally, Trump suggested that the leader of the Catholic church would regret not supporting his candidacy. “If and when the Vatican is attacked by Isis, which as everyone knows is Isis’s ultimate trophy,” Trump said, “the pope can have only wished and prayed that Donald Trump would have been president because this would not have happened.

                    You misinterpreted me.

Didn't help I quoted the wrong person and couldn't be bothered to correct it.

All those complaining about religion in politics don't need to look very far.

I hope he starts referring to himself in the third person in debates and speeches, that would be awesome.
