Nope. The government is saying that boycotts and sanctions will be decided at government level only. Now, you might be opposed to further centralisation and taking power away from councils and impinging on the independence of universities, but it's got nothing to do with our dear customers telling us what to do.Down with racism. As opposed to the ones who make up government?Originally posted by NotAllThere View Post
have you met any of the self-serving individuals who make up local councils?
It's no surprise that the formal announcement for this is going to be made in Israel. They're the ones who have been complaining the loudest about boycotts."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

I'd say boycott this.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostNope. The government is saying that boycotts and sanctions will be decided at government level only.
Govt sanctions are already compulsory for everybody in UK to follow, if some individuals want to impose their own, especially on moral grounds then they are entitled to it - nobody is forced to follow them.Comment

Quite right, they have been elected to deal with issues like this. Local government has been elected to deal with local issues. Did any of your councillors state their views on boycotting Israel when canvassing for votes? The government is saying that boycotts and sanctions will be decided at government level onlybloggoth
