they must have watched the CCTV to identify the guy. At that point the passage of 1 second (he couldn't have assaulted her in the way suggested in the time) and the fact the guy was clearly not running (she stated he ran away) should have rung alarm bells.

Now what might have happened is they collided he called her a silly XYZ and she thought I'll get back at him then it snowballed.

Sex offences on trains and stations reach record level - BBC News

1,399 reported sexual assaults in 2014/15 on trains and at stations.

I'd wager that there are many more unreported. If you're a woman, and you travel daily in rush hour on the tube, the chances are that someone will cop a feel at some point. The guys who do this don't do it once, they do it at every opportunity.

(This case does seem ridiculous though)

that reported number seems a little low considering its a million plus people packed into trains every day.

        Sad people behave like this.

Well known? Another case for Inspector Yewtree then.

Seems logical and just points more to how entitled the accuser must have felt. Imagine if this happened in the States in a jurisdiction with widespread concealed carry permits. Guy would have been lucky to walk away!

Is that from experience or anecdotal?

hmm someone needs to go to prison and its not the accused or the accuser.
