I tried it in my old BMW 525 TDS.
The car ran much better on Sainsbury's own brand veg oil, I have to say. Smelt nicer too.Comment

You can certainly buy top-quality oil in the UK. Maybe even in supermarkets these days?
We came across similar when visiting Sonoma, we hadn't experienced oil that's good enough to drink prior to that.
There was a chap on Dragons Den some years ago trying to set up a business like Laithewaites, but for olive oils. He didn't do well on the show, and the website looks a bit dead too?
