I'd heard that James Bolam wouldn't let the BBC re-run WHTTLL? for years because he wanted to do more serious stuff (e.g. When The Boat Comes In. As WHTTLL? was so popular, he feared he'd typecast as Terry Collier and wouldn't be considered for the kinds of roles he wanted to do.
