Before anyone asks 100,000 ZX80 , 1.5 million ZX81 and 5 million spectrums were massive volumes.

Although I was more of an Acorn user by the 1980s, my first calculator was a Sinclair Cambridge and the first programmable device I owned was the Sinclair Cambridge Programmable, a neat little thing with 4-bit machine code
I saw him in the flesh once at the PCW show at Earl's Court, which we used to go to every year when I was a games programmer. We wandered past him as we were making our rounds of the various publishers we worked with, as he stood conversing with someone among the stands. For some reason I've always remembered vividly how his head glistened with the reflection of the hall's bright lights from aboveComment
