Only if you think it will take the same amount of time, and that it took 20 years before Clarkson was worth watching.Originally posted by VectraMan View PostSo by 2036 Chris Evans will be worth watching? Great.
(Haven't watched last night's yet).
I'm still waiting for Clarkson to be worth watching, though, so if it takes the same time then 2036 might be optimistic

It took Jeremy Clarkson a significant amount of times to grow into the programme and make it his own (and given that it was designed for him on the relaunch, and his mate produced it), and it will take a similar amount of time for Evans to make it his own too - he can't change too much to fit his style, because that will affect the international audience.
You can see how "good" Clarkson was in his first show, here:

Ha - the bunch of fookin right on hipsters who will pay a fortune for anything with a half eaten apple on it have just had a big lesson on brand management and recognition
the 'Top Gear' brand is quite clearly nothing without Jezza (and Hamster and May).
maybe they should have sacked the whinging producer who got a smack in the mouth instead of the guy who made the show work (for the past 20 years)Leave a comment:

Top Gear's worst EVER viewing figures as show has lost half its viewers in two weeks | Daily Mail Online
Oh dear its imploding.Worst EVER viewing figures for Top Gear: Show has lost half its viewers in two weeks since relaunch and only 2.4m tuned in last night (but those who did said it was better with less Chris Evans)
2.37m watched last night; down from 2.8m last week & 4.3m in first week
Ratings put more pressure on host Chris Evans who has been criticised
He got out of Audi R8 V10 in yesterday’s episode to be sick after feeling ill
Controversial Cenotaph stunt footage was absent from last night’s episodeLeave a comment:
