Not really. You must be trolling because this has been asked at least three times in the prof forums and is done year after year...and I can't call people idiots in the prof forums. Shame to miss a good opportunity.Originally posted by diseasex View Postharsh. having a bad day ?'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

I'm currently using mysupermarket to see max amount of decent booze I can get for £299.99 on one bill
Also wondering how far this particular envelope can be pushed
HTHSeasonal gifts
An employer may provide employees with a seasonal gift, such as a turkey, an ordinary bottle of wine or a box of chocolates at Christmas. All of these gifts can be treated as trivial benefits. . For an employer with a large number of employees the total cost of providing a gift to each employee may be considerable, but where the gift to each employee is a trivial benefit, this principle applies regardless of the total cost to the employer and the number of employees concerned. If a benefit is trivial it should not be included in a PSA (EIM21861).
If the gift extends beyond one of the items mentioned above, for example from a bottle or two to a case of wine, or from a turkey to a Christmas hamper, you will need to consider the contents and cost before being able to determine whether the benefit is trivial.
In such cases you should treat all the factors objectively and use your judgement. How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't thinkComment

Hence the move of the thread to General. It seems reasonable to me that any dumb question on expenses from someone who's not that new to the site should be taken out of the professional forums.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostNot really. You can add up multiple events throughout the year so long as the total is less than £150 pp. You can also claim VAT back if you're not flat-rated and a non-director employee is present.Comment
